For Jaguar Classic Chromite, perfumer Michel Almairac was tasked with translating the exhilarating sensations of driving one of their ultra-classic and always-stylish cars into scent. So where did he begin? ‘To me, Jaguar represents great refinement and strong character’, he explains. To give the new fragrance a powerful boost, Michel chose a natural ingredient, but selected one obtained through a cutting-edge distillation method: fractionated patchouli. He used it because ‘…it’s more refined, potent and impactful,’ bringing ‘a gritty yet elegant texture that’s very modern…’ Resinous, rich – but without the earthiness we often associate with the patchouli note.
